What is a Men’s Shed?
Men’s Sheds make a significant contribution to the wellbeing of members, as well as contributing to building vibrant inclusive and healthy communities.
Men’s Sheds are an international phenomenon that started right here in Australia, and they have become an integral part of many local communities across Queensland.
Men’s Sheds are community based and non-commercial incorporated legal entities. They provide a safe, supportive, friendly and inclusive space for their members to gather and work on projects at their own pace and in their own time, while being in the company of others. A key focus of Men’s Sheds is advancing the health and wellbeing of members, they provide social support and camaraderie, and the opportunity for meaningful community connection.

Who is QMSA?
Queensland Men’s Shed Association (QMSA) is the peak state body representing Men’s Sheds across Queensland.
Queensland Men’s Shed Association held initial meetings in 2008 - 2009 as an unincorporated body to discuss its formation, and gained full incorporated status on 18 June 2010 as the peak body for Men’s Sheds in Queensland. QMSA received registered charity status with the ACNC effective from 1 October 2020.
Our membership is broken into nine Zone areas across Queensland which are supported by Zone representatives who are all members of a Queensland Men's Shed. Our primary focus is to support the needs of Queensland Men’s Sheds, and we seek to engage both individual Sheds and Zone areas as well as the communities they serve.
We represent and support the development of Sheds across Queensland and act as a central hub and information exchange, sharing information, ideas and support.

To promote a safe environment in which Queensland shedders are happy and healthy contributors within their local community.

To provide a friendly open forum for Queensland Shed to network, exchange ideas, share experiences, and promote overall general wellbeing.
