Every Shed keeps an eye out for its members — but sometimes, a small change in someone’s mood or a quiet comment can mean something more.
The safeTALK workshop gives everyday people the skills to recognise when someone might be thinking about suicide and connect them to life-saving help.
The workshop is a free four-hour, face-to-face session that’s practical, respectful, and easy to follow. You’ll learn how to ask directly about suicide, listen without judgment, and link someone to the right support.
Studies show that safeTALK participants walk away feeling more confident having those tough conversations — knowing how to ask, how to listen, and how to keep someone safe until professional help can take over.
One of the most valuable things you can do is look out for your mates, and we encourage all local Sheds to have at least two members attend.
