A Winning Day at the Track for Queensland Men's Sheds
Queensland Men's Shed Association (QMSA) is delighted to acknowledge the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) for its generosity at its 11th Annual Queensland Charity Race Day at Doomben Racecourse.
QMSA Vice Chairman Frank Harvey and Secretary Neil Polglase stepped out of the Shed and onto the grass to attend the event, held on Wednesday 30 September at Doomben Racecourse, Queensland.
The day brought together more than 350 insurance industry professionals for a day of networking, fundraising, and community support.
QMSA was honoured to be named a joint beneficiary alongside Share the Dignity. This charity supports women experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, and domestic violence by providing essential period products.
During the event, Frank and Neil met with AICLA Chairman Mark Mellor and CEO Adrian Libke, as well as Share the Dignity representatives Hannah McCauley and Lisa Locker.
Thanks to the generosity of event sponsors, organisers and attendees, over $6,000 was raised for QMSA through raffles and other fundraising activities.
These funds will help QMSA continue its vital work supporting more than 250 Men's Sheds across Queensland. Through their local Sheds, thousands of men find friendship, connection, purpose and opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing.
We extend our sincere thanks to AICLA and everyone involved in making the Charity Race Day such a success. Their support will make a real difference to Men's Sheds and the communities they serve throughout Queensland.
QMSA is grateful for AICLA’s support and looks forward to building on this valued relationship and working together to create positive outcomes for Queensland communities in the years ahead.
