Men’s Shed Songwriting Comp

The Queensland Men’s Shed Songwriting Competition is back for 2026.

Proudly presented by the Queensland Men’s Shed Association with support from the Coolum Men’s Shed, this year’s competition invites Shed members across the state to put their stories into song.

Whether it’s heartfelt, humorous, or somewhere in between, this is your chance to showcase your creativity and connect with others. Earn bragging rights! Winning songs will be performed LIVE at Shed Music 26 in Coolum, with commemorative trophies awarded to the songwriter and their Shed.

You don’t need to be a professional musician - just have a go.

Entry Rules

    • Entries Open: Monday 1 June 2026

    • Entries Close: 12 noon, Friday 31 July 2026

    • Prizes: Winner and runner up will be awarded commemorative trophies

    • Winning songs will be performed live at the Coolum Men’s Shed

    • Festival – “Shed Music 26” (16–18 October 2026)

    • Refer to entry rules for full details

    • Open to current members of any Queensland Men’s Shed

    • You must have been a member on or before 31 December 2025
