Dayboro Men's Shed: Fit, Skilled, and Fired Up
Tucked into the scenic Dayboro valley, this vibrant Men’s Shed is home to more than 65 members - mostly locals, with a few travelling from neighbouring areas. Open to men of all ages, the Shed is a welcoming space where connection, creativity and community thrive.
Inside the bustling wood and metal workshops, members bring a wide mix of backgrounds and experiences. It’s a great example of blokes learning from each other, with know-how and skills passed on through hands-on projects, conversations and collaboration.
The Shed itself is evolving too. A new building is nearing completion, and workspaces are being reshuffled to make way for future plans—evidence of a Shed that’s not just active, but always growing.
Health and wellbeing are also on the agenda. Each Monday, members take part in the “Mobile Action Plan” - a program designed to build strength, balance and stability. Led by Dr Rod Edwards, a former university lecturer in Exercise Physiology and Health Education, the sessions are equal parts effective and enjoyable. (And yes! The balance beam is harder than it looks!)
